International Air Power Review...bestaan ze nog??

Hallo allemaal,

Ik ben al vanaf het begin lid van de International Airpower Review. Maar nu is mijn vraag....bestaan ze eigenlijk nog wel. Op de site van airimepublishing geven ze aan dat deel 22 net uitgekomen is en dat deel 23 in december 2007 uitkomt. Die site is dus al een tijd niet meer bijgewerkt. Ik heb zelf halverwege het jaar nog wel deel 24 binnen gekregen maar dat is het.

Contact krijgen met airtime publishing is ook onmogelijk. Op geen enkel mailtje reageren ze.

Op het communicatieve vlak zijn ze nooit sterk echt geweest. Ik ben ooit tijden bezig geweest om een nieuw creditcardnummer door te geven maar ik kreeg nooit geen enkele reactie op mijn vraag waar ik de gegevens naar toe kon sturen. Toen het hun niet meer lukte om af te schrijven kreeg ik een brief via de post met een faxnummer waar ik mijn gegevens naar toe kon sturen. Daarna is het weer even goed gegaan. Maar ook op dit faxnummer nu geen enkele reactie..

Ik ben benieuwd of iemand van jullie meer weet.

Ik weet het, niet bepaald een antwoord op je vraag, maar zoals je ziet zijn er wel meer mensen die al een tijdje afvragen wat er toch met IAPR aan de hand is...

De vingertjes maar even gekruist houden. Er zijn schijnbaar wat "probleempjes"maar als het goed is komen binnenkort deel 25 en 26 vlak achter elkaar.

Ze zijn tenminste wel zo netjes om niet alvast je creditcard te belasten

Have just come across a number of comments on the ARC Air Discussion Forum saying that the problems we are all encountering with regard to very, very late appearances of IAPR journals is down to the ill health of Mel Williams wife.

Heard from a former associate of AIR Time publishing that IAPR has indeed been bought over by UK's Crecy Publications now - they plan to reissue many of the earlier IAPR's past issues as reruns - not much plans of coming up with new editions at this time - also they plan to cobble up some previous IAPR material and re-package and cannibalize them

Received a letter today from Mel Williams (Publisher) apologising for the delays to recent issues of Intl Air Power Review due to a serious illness in the family and advising that Vol.27 is now ready and being sent to subscribers.

He also states that additional editors have now been added, four issues should be released during 2011 and Vol.28 is on schedule to be issued around 3 months after Vol.27

Ik heb zojuist mijn creditcardafschrift ontvangen en daar staat tot mijn grote verbazing een afboeking voor een airpower review!!!
Meestal ontvang ik het boek dan binnen 2 weken in de brievenbus.

Ik ben benieuwd......is toch al heel wat maanden(zinker een jaar) geleden sinds ik het laatste exemplaar heb ontvangen...

This is the publisher of International Air Power Review.

There has been much speculation about IAPR of late but I want to assure readers that some recent postings on this forum are utterly false. IAPR has not been sold nor is it for sale.

It has not been discontinued nor is it true that future issues will comprise a rehash of old material.
To our valued readers I can confirm that Vol. 27 has been printed and is now in the process of being mailed to subscribers.

Copies will begin appearing in retail shops in the UK and Europe late next week.

Furthermore, we are well along with the production of Vol. 28 and I expect this to be available in three months time.
It is certainly true that issues have been running late and, in the briefest terms, I would like to advise the reason why.

My wife was struck with a serious and debilitating illness in late 2008, forcing me to switch my role to that of caregiver first and thus, publisher second.

The personal battle continues but two new aviation editors have recently joined the IAPR team and I am optimistic we are back on track to something closer to a quarterly schedule.

Our new website will be up and running in December.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has written or called with messages of support during what has been a difficult time. MW
