Borygo,

Because Volkel is very remote located perhaps you can do one the following things,

Get a Hotel in either, Breda or 's Hertogenbosch... then get the train to Oss...
From 07.00 there will be a free Shuttlebus running from Oss station to the Airbase where the airshow is held... at the end of the show the Shuttlebusses bring you back to the Trainstation (This shuttles are totaly free of charge and they travel til 19.00).

It's confirmed by the Polish Airforce. one Mig-29 and one CASA.

So - I hope PLAF as support will send brand new CASA with new camouflage (021 or 022). Very good looking aircraft from my home base - Krakow-Balice.

Hi Borygo,

Most (reasonable priced) hotels in the direct surroundings probably are all completely booked by now, so you are more or less confined to hotels a bit further away, like Oss, Eindhoven or 's Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch).

A quick look at http://www.hotels.nl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; showed some decent hotels around Eindhoven from 47 euro's in Best (near the airfield!, but at an industrial area) or downtown Eindhoven from around 60 euro's a night.

Erratum: Last week, I stated that our first display on mainland Europe at Volkol AFB, was on the 19th and 20th June. These dates are indeed correct, however unusually they are on a Friday and Saturday – not the Saturday and Sunday I originally posted. Please accept my apologies for this oversight if you are thinking of travelling to this show. XH558 will be transiting back to the UK on Sunday 21st and no display is planned that day.

Have you heard anything about flying display of RNLAF KDC-10? I saw pictures from previous Open Days and T-235( or T-264) was flying...

They are participants in the Airpower demo... So if there is an airpower demo, there will be a DC-10 involved... Don't know if you saw it last year, but it was pretty impressive...

No, I have not seen previous demo - only picutres. But I've seen KDC10 in Krakow once - impressive aircraft!

I think we can now forget about Lockheed Constellation N749NL making an appearance at Volkel this year after this Wednesday evening's news leaked out. It is also highly likely that the Dutch Connie will NEVER again take to the skies...
