This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |
I didn't know they let dogs fly Apaches. Nice pictures! I especially like 3 and 4.Sven van Roij wrote:My dad works in his spare time as an dog trainer. Last week he told me that one of his students was an AH-64D pilot.
It's a simple dutch abbreviation; GebiedLaagVliegen no.5. You can see the other GLV's over here: http://www.defensie.nl/actueel/vliegbewegingen/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Iwan Bogels wrote:What does GLV-5 stand for?
It's on the "Oirschotse Heide". Near Eindhoven AB. On this map you can see the necessary info:Iwan Bogels wrote:Where is it/ how do I get there ?
When they fly! As far as I know there isn't a schedule. You need to bring a scanner with you and some luck: they use the frequencies of EHEH.Iwan Bogels wrote:When is it active
The slopes are within base limits so I wouldn't count that oneIwan Bogels wrote:Oké then.... This is what I call a nice surprise !
The Slopes at Gilze-Rijen, The Mach Loop in Wales, the Cornfield range at the Wadden and now the GLV-5 area. Operational spotting (away from airbase take-off, taxi and landing zones) is getting more and more interesting these days.
Thanks for the detailed info. I will be trying my luck soon.
Cheers,
Iwan
