Opened a new topic for aviation log's related to the walking event "Vierdaagse" in the area around Nijmegen (The Netherlands).

I found the following log at http://www.sgvolkel.nl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (credit to "Tiny")

Nijmegen 22/07/09:
Seen flying above the city:
A-247 Alouette III KLu
1x SH-14D Marine
1x Lynx AAC
Tiny also heard the sound of a Huey.

Cuijk (Vierdaagsefeesten) 23/07/09
Because of the Vierdaagse the Royal Netherlands Army build a temporarly bridge every year between Cuijk and Middelaar. At the evening before the event they allways close the bridge with a show for the public.

These aircraft where seen flying:
PH-LEF Cessna 182Q (paradrop)
PH-RON Shoereder Fire Balloon G20/24 "Guijt"
PH-9B1 (paramotor)
PH-9M1 (paramotor)

Now I know why they choose the registration PH-LEF (LEF means something like "courage" in Dutch) for this Cessna. The pilot made two VERY low passes over the river Maas ! There were also another two "paramotors" flying around.

Hi all,

Here's what I managed to note between km 0 and 172...

21-7:
Elst:
Alouette III A-247 overhead

Slijk-Ewijk:
Buzzed by no less than five Fokker S-11's! E-39 positively identified, the other four believed to be the remaining asset of the Fokker Four team: E-14, E-27, E-29 and 197/K

Oosterhout:
Alouette III A-247 flew from the military rest area

22-7:
Beuningen:
Alouette III A-275 overhead

23-7:
Nothing noted, apart from flying handkerchief PH-9J6, probably due to the appalling weather down the route...

24-7:
Cuijk:
Alouette III A-301 flew from the military rest area
E-3A LX-N90458 (not read by myself) flew low overhead twice rather spectacular, nice!

Nijmegen:
One of the overhead banner towing aircraft was L-18C PH-LRM, former belgian L57

Cheers,
Marco
