Funny to see Brussels Airlines with SQ code, though...

QR from 226 to 558; will it finally happen (A330) ?

Just heard via reliable source QR postponed plans for AMS pax flight u.f.n. Main target now is to boost destinations which currently are on 4-5 freq per week to daily and daily destinations to double daily. This is now resulting in a capacity constraint. So also for next winter no plans...

Press release from the Qatar AW site (dated 16 January 2011) more or less confirms the message of Ton. Lots of capacity increases and some new destinations (like Brussels). More capacity increases have already been announced since then (like Singapore to double daily).

- FLR 07:25 - AMS 09:30 IG 0331 A319 Mon, Thu, Fri, Sun

- AMS 19:30 - FLR 21:25 IG 0336 A319 daily
- AMS 20:30 - FLR 22:20 AZ 0117 A319 daily = NEW

This will probably result in the end of KLM's codeshare with MeridianaFly.

As expected Meridiana Fly has announced the withdrawal from the FLR-AMS-FLR route. Starting Summer 2011 Meridiana has lost KL as a codeshare partner to the new operations of Alitalia.

So for summer peak SPL will see

8x daily B763
3x daily A332
6x daily A333
1x daily B744

Total of 18 daily flights.

In addition, the FedEx B757 flight will not be starting before 29 August.

The Brussels Airlines slots are requested for two daily morning flights, scheduled one hour after each other starting June 5th. Seems unlikely that these will actually be used. They have an history of requesting (and not using) slots in AMS.
