Don't think so now. Those off weekends are to cope with the jetleg they'll have after returning home to CONUS, according to the rules that apply to the Thunderbirds (stand down for one day for each hour of time difference they'll experience).

Not true, pure speculation on the UKAR messageboard, because RIAT announced that three countries have already confurmed, one from the middle east, one from the former Warsaw pact and one western Europe. Thereupon the spaculation started.
About the countries there was an update from RIAT itself:
So, although no one picked the exact three countries we were looking for, some entries were tantalisingly close. By telling you some of the responses and how close they were, we hope it will help you make your own choices. So here goes:

* Colin (Poland, Belgium and Jordan), had one correct answer.
* Simon (Jordan, France and Poland) had no correct answers.
* James (Jordan, Greece, Hungary) had no correct answers.
* Robert (Jordan, Netherlands and Romania) had one correct answer.
* Alex (Oman, France and Czech Republic) had one correct answer .
Which other combination can you make out of that? (Although I admit with you, Coati, nothing was said about actual aircraft)

Ah, the first question didn't make it to scramble.. SORRY!

They said in the beginning the three countries that already confirmed consist of one country from the Middle East, one country from Western Europe and one country from the former Soviet Union controlled part of Europe.

BTW
(Jordan, France and Poland) had no correct answers.
rules out your suggestion.

In a dive.

(I thought I once read the late Prince Bernhard broke the soundbarrier for his first time sitting in a Hunter)

Rather off topic I guess, but apart from the A-10 and Turkish F-16 I haven't seen any "juicy stuff" yet... :(

Must be if you consider A-10's and THK F-16's as juicy

2010 RIAT was beaten by Kecskemet Airshow concerning variety of dynamic displays.
2011 RIAT will be beaten by Izmir Airshow also concerning variety of dynamic displays.
2012 RIAT will be beaten by ???? airshow ????

RIAT is an expensive vegetative patient, sad to say.

Well, it's still almost 2 months to go until the show.
So we'll just have to be patient. :)

Hi guys,

I have tickets for sunday and monday, as I arrive in Luton on saturday at 12.00 I and am considering to go take a look at the end of the runway, I think I can be there at approx. 15.00.

If I am correct I could best take the red route for the nearest parking lot?

Any other information will be highly appreciated, if you have other ideas to kill time on saturday (not necessarely aviation-related) let me know :)

Thanks,
Arthur

Hello, does anybody know what the weatherforecast says for Saturday. Via the internet I get different forecasts, from light rain, to heavy rain showers......
