Als vaste klanten van Cathay kregen we vandaag onderstaande mail. De CX vluchten met de A340 duren dus t/m 25 maart, daarna is het weer elke dag een 747.

Voor het winterseizoen 2011 past Cathay Pacific een wijziging toe in haar vluchtuitvoering. Dit vanwege long haul aircraftrotatie.

Vanaf 30 october 2011 tot en met 25 maart 2012 zal er op woensdag, vrijdag en zondag een Airbus A340-300 vliegen tussen Amsterdam en Hongkong. Op de overige dagen blijven wij uiteraard met een B747-400 vliegen.


De configuratie van de A340-300 is: 257 Economy class en 26 Business class stoelen. De producten zijn identiek aan het B747-400 product.


Vanaf bovenstaande data is het nieuwe vluchtschema op woensdag, vrijdag en zondag als volgt.

Vertek AMS: 12:35

Aankomst HKG: 07.05+1 (A340-300)

Aankomst HKG 06.35 (B747-400)


Vertrek HKG: 00.35

Aankomst AMS: 06.50 (A340-300)

Aankomst AMS: 06.20 (B747-400)


Wij behouden een dagelijkse vlucht tussen Amsterdam en Hongkong. Daarnaast kunnen wij via Londen en Frankfurt alsnog onze First Class aanbieden.


Wij willen benadrukken dat deze downgrade alleen voor het winterschema gepland staat. Vanaf 26 maart 2012 zullen wij dus weer 7 dagen per week een B747-400 vliegen

If i understand the slot allocation list for the winter correctly; KLM is planning to start Luanda and Taipei direct flights.

Luanda has now been officially launched by KLM, service operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from November 14, 2011.

KLM has increased the frequency on AMS-LHR-AMS to 12x/day this winter with a new broken flight KL1015 operated by Fokker 70 during the morning. It looks like a LHR slot driven operation to keep winter slots available to SKYTEAM:

Qatar Airways CARGO announces new B777F flights to USA & Canada - via Luxembourg:

QATAR Airways’ cargo division will link Doha (Qatar) to North America via Luxembourg on three new 777F services.

Atlanta and Houston (both US) will be served twice-weekly from 2 November, while the Toronto (Canada) services will begin on 7 November. In North America, Qatar Airways currently operates dedicated freighters only to Chicago (US).

In addition, extra cargo flights will operate to Bahrain, Chicago, Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dammam (Saudi Arabia), Hong Kong (China) and Tehran (Iran) from 30 October.

There is no mention of any route changes to DOH-AMS-ORD-AMS-DOH, but it does say B777F flights to ORD increase. So......... instead of fewer,we may see more Qatar CARGO B777F.

BARCELONA - De Spaanse low cost carrier Vueling gaat vliegen op de route Amsterdam-Madrid. Vanaf 30 oktober vliegt Vueling één keer per dag met een Airbus A320 tussen de Nederlandse en Spaanse hoofdstad. Hiermee neemt de concurrentie op de route Amsterdam-Madrid verder toe.
