volgens http://www.defensie.nl/onderwerpen/mate ... pters/nh90
zijn dit de gegevens:
Rotordiameter 16,30 m Rompgrootte (LxH) 19,56m x 5,30 m Gewicht 10.000 kg Vliegbereik 800 km Kruissnelheid 215 km/u Maximum snelheid 260 km/u Motoren 2 RTM-322 Bewapening 2 torpedo's, 1 machinegeweer 7,62 mm Sensoren HELRAS-sonar; ISAR radar; FLIR (Forward Looking Infra-Red) Bemanning 3

The usefull load is 4.200kg
Internall fuel capacity 2.035kg
If the maximum weight on a oil platform is 9.600kg the usefull load, landing on the platform will be 3.200kg.
So a crew of 5 (5x100kg incl equipment)
3.200 - 2.035 - 500 = 665kg
Average weight of a wet saved person 100kg. 6 up to 7 can be saved
And during the rescue mission the weight gets less and less.
6 or 7 souls saved is always more than a Lynx can carry.

Nice calculation Menno! I think the chance that an NH90 will land on an oil rig with full tanks is zero percent... How does it get there without burning off fuel

How about an aborted take-off after refueling?

Once again, the empty weight is 6400 kg
The maximum landing weight on a platform is 9600 kg
So, there is 3200 kg left for fuel, crew and load.
The internal fuel capacity is 2035 kg.
When using the maximum internal fuel capacity there is 1165kg for crew and load.
I didn't write anything about a need of using external fuel tanks
