The transports are very regular at Spang, so they can tow them from their spots to the staticline. The other a/c can make a weekendstop while they are making a navigationflight or a crosscountry flight or so....

Today I received very sad news, I got a message today from a LT Colonel from Spangdahlem that the Spangdahlem Open House is being cancelled due to cutbacks.

Well the US DOD budget cuts tend to s.... big time.
However on a positive note, it seems to be possible to get in contact with staff at Spangdahlem.
Something i haven't been able to accomplish...
Today I received word from 52nd FW Public Affairs Office about the open house: "Unfortunately, planning for the 2013 Open House was cancelled due to
budget constraints. I recommend you check back in 2014."
Thanks for contacting me. It shouldn't be a problem to get you on base for our open day. I will be in contact with you when the time gets closer to provide instructions.

Weekend stops or cross-country flights?.This isn't the 1980s.Such things were killed off about 20 odd years ago.
