Most likely TUSKR
RAMONES 1974 - 1996

The maximum number of characters on a standard (ICAO including the military) Flight Plan is SEVEN; normally this consist of FIVE letters and TWO numbers.

Hence in this case the ATC Flight Plan callsign was "TUSKR24"

However the ATC & pilot voice callsign would be "TUSKER24"

Thanks for the clarification Robin. I 've indeed written down what I've heard. And this goes to verify the mysterious TUSKR callsign in Wolbie's list.
My actual big mistake was on the date. I meant February not January. So I edit.

Further to my last.....i.e.

The maximum number of characters on a standard (ICAO including the military) Flight Plan is SEVEN; normally this consist of FIVE letters and TWO numbers.

Hence in this case the ATC Flight Plan callsign was "TUSKR24"....However the ATC & pilot voice callsign would be "TUSKER24"

Confusion sometimes occur as the pilots or ATC sometimes read out Phonetically the five letter abbreviation. This often occurs when the pilot thinks the Air Traffic Controller, may not know his full callsign from the abbreviation on his flight plan.

Addition to the above
In the UK along with most of the northern Europe ATC, the full callsign is printed out along with the abbreviation (on the flight strip or the electronic computer readout displayed). However in some of the south countries only the abbreviation is still displayed.

Sometimes it is clear from the abbreviation (on flight plan) what the full callsign (civil or military) is, other are not, and not all European and American use the same abbreviation methods.

i.e. the Swedish only use four letters i.e "FOXX" callsign is "FOX":
other Europe AF examples are "BDROCK" is "BEDROCK"; "MOONBEAM" is "MOONB" (but could be confused with other type callsign i.e. "MOON BRAVO" etc
In fact in some cases in Europe, some five letter air force abbreviation is spelt differently!!!!!
lastly then there is some pilots who use no-standard five letter abbreviations.... hence on SBS some abbreviations vary for the same callsign.....

Hope that I have not confuse anyone....

No confusion, at least for me. I don't disagree with TUSKR actually. The point of my first contribution was to clarify that TUSKR was an american CN.235 and not a Canadian aircraft (as originally listed) and my second to verify that the aircraft under this callsign these days is 66043.
I am a photo spotter anyway and sorry if my poor knowledge confused the radio experts and mislead the conversation.
