Portugal wrecks and relics

After some hours at the airport I decided to pick up a T-37 I hadn't seen before at the Air Force Hospital.

From there it was another 30 minute walk to get the G.91 at the Military College. This bird is still unknown, but might not be here for too much longer. New budget cuts are threatning to close the college.

After that I had the idea to still get the T-38 at the airport and the T-33 in Belem, but two hours of walking in the heat was enough. I'll do those next time...

Another preserved aicraft near Lisbon. DC-9 (or MD-8x) fuselage as part of a kids play center in the Dolce Vita mall. Most or maybe all of the fuselage is here, but I think the wings are not. Picture taken today.

Got some more lately. In early October picked up some planes around Alverca. The (old) Air Force Museum still exists, even though the new location at Sintra is now fully open. At Alverca the location is still open on Mondays and holidays. Outside are still four jets, more inside, but since I was there on a Wednesday....

Very nearby is another relic, a civil PA-31 placed between some houses. No idea on the identity of this one yet.

And this Sunday, November 2nd I visited again the Naval museum in Lisbon. This museum has three planes. Every first Sunday of the month the museum is free of charge. A good option if you only want to get the planes.

To Frank and others, I went by Alverca again today and checked the cn plate of the piper. Number as quoted by Frank is correct, that's the one!

Finally got the T-38 at the airport yesterday. It is the gate guard for the military gate, about 30min walk from the terminal.

A little outside Lisbon, but just a few minutes beyond the bridge it is still very close. This A-7 now guards the gate at a military installation at Alcochete.

Changed the title from 'Lisbon' to Portugal, because the extreme north east of the country cannot possibly be named Lisbon anymore... anyway, to keep it together.
Last week, June 10 to 12, I gave the airshow at Leon a go. After some searching for options to travel there I found the best one from Lisbon was actually to take a domestic flight from Cascais to Bragança and rent a car from there for the last 200km or so. The flight is a very nice one. Flown by SevenAir (or Aerovip) on a Dornier 228. It makes a Bragança - Vila Real - Viseu - Cascais - Portimão v.v. twice daily. So in my case, I got extra stops at Viseu (G.91) and Vila Real (G.91) before arriving at Bragança (T-33). That's three new wrecks and relics. Although for Viseu I had to wait for the return flight, because on the way to Bragança there were no passengers to drop off or pick up in Viseu, so no stop

Anyway, here are the pics:
