Pictured arriving yesterday 06Nov at Hatzerim AFB for the official acceptance ceremony, one of 30 Alenia Aermacchi 346 two-seaters which will gradually replace A-4 Skyhawks as stage three (after Grob G.120 and Ratheon T-6A) trainers for the Israel Air Force. Ordered in cooperation with industrial partners and to be operated on a "power by the hour" basis the new aircraft will be known as the Lavi (Lion Cub) in Israeli service.
