Well, going by my experiences last year. I'm not quite sure about the parking permit. We arrived at some ungodly hour while it was still dark and parked in the public car park, near the chairlift, paying in coins at the machine. Apparently, an hour or so later, the local authorities set up a pay station at the very bottom of the hill, near the motorway and took a small charge from everyone going up - they were then able to park in the fields etc around the village. In order to bring your car further up the hill (past the bottom of the chairlift) along the service road, it is probably necessary to have some kind of permit. It looked like there were plenty of spaces in the fields and there was one massive traffic jam at the end of the day. Bear in mind that most of the locals only arrive for the afternoon display.dolfo wrote: If the chairlift opens at 0730 I understand it is too late to see the morning practice from the top of the Ebenfluch or the Tschingel...

Hopefully this year will be just as good. I've been watching the various webcams of the area and its been snowing today. So long as the clouds get out of the way, this should help to reflect the light at the top.
Roll on Axalp 2007!!!!
