KUWAIT --- Boeing and Kuwait airplane leasing company ALAFCO finalized an order for 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8s valued at $2.0 billion at current list price. The order was first announced as a commitment at the Farnborough Airshow in July.

"This is the first order for the 737 MAX from the Middle East, which is one of the aviation industry's highest growth regions," said Ray Conner, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The order brings the total number of 737 MAX orders to date to 878.

Aeromexico firms up deal for up to 90 737 Max aircraft

02:00 6 Nov 2012

Aeromexico has concluded a purchase agreement with Boeing for up to 90 737-8 and -9 aircraft, following a tentative order for the re-engined type.

"The order follows Aeromexico's letter of intent to purchase up to 100 aircraft announced on 25 July 2012," says the airline.

"Of the 90 aircraft, 60 are firm deliveries with the ability to purchase an additional 30 aircraft, subject to reconfirmation by Grupo Aeromexico."

The company provided no details about delivery schedules, but says the 90 aircraft are worth $9 billion at list prices.

Aeromexico did not comment on the status of the 10 787-9s that were also included in July's tentative order.

They were delivered to the Company from years 2000 to 2007.
The average usage of the Regional Jets is approximately 8.2 years.

Consideration for the Disposal Agreement: The consideration for the Disposal Agreement is determined after arm’s length negotiation between the parties with reference to the unaudited book value of the Regional Jets as at the Delivery Dates and the condition of each of the Regional Jets as at the Delivery Dates.

As at 23 November 2012, the unaudited book value of the Regional Jets is approximately RMB1.535 billion. The consideration price comprises the airframe price, accompanying engine price and accompanying accessories price.
