Guess you just have to read Roberto´s message from Wed, 14 Apr 2010 18:26KIER wrote:Hi K-9.

Re: Wittmundhafen (ETNT) - 2010 MIL
In the message from roberto it is not stated when this is discovered.
And the message from K-9, is showing a lot of numbers from F-4's.
So maybe they did fly in the morning. ( I know they did) I can not make any sense of it, when reading K-9's post. Maybe K-9 was on base, how else can you read that much F-4's ??
And if Tornado's are also grounded how could K-9 log three of them today.
Just looking for clear info, that's all.
Thanks in advance guys.

You are so right ! Sorry for my remark ! I should read the messages myself first, before writing !KIER wrote:In the message from roberto it is not stated when this is discovered.

Hi, just back from Wittmund, only 8 F4's were flying between 08.00 and 12.00. In the afternoon not a single one F4 was flying, only 4 French M2000's and 4 Turkish F16's.KIER wrote:Hi K-9.

Re: Wittmundhafen (ETNT) - 2010 MIL
any idea how long the phantoms will be grounded? will they be grounded till every single one f-4 is checked? will the aircraft fly as soon as they are checked?

And another question. Do the ash clouds have consequences for the flying activities on Wittmundhafen?

Thanks for providing the numbers of the flying ones. I didn't pay attention to which ones were flying or standing on the ground...
Re: Wittmundhafen (ETNT) - 2010 MIL
Today the afternoon mission of the French and Turkish aircraft was cancelled because of the ash cloud.
It will take a while (2-3 weeks according a German source) before you will see some Phantoms in the air.
A few specialized technicians have to check each ejection seat (4 hours per seat) and first aircraft to be checked will be the Tornado's in Afghanistan, then some Tornado's in Germany, then QRA aircraft, then the rest of the F4's and finally the F4's at Leeuwarden.
And when they find a lot of damaged seats then they have the problem that there are hardly any spare parts for this component.
