Hi Guiness,
You are starting to touch the problem here ! In the past it was the people with contacts who arranged the airshows. Now it's BAD who tries to arrange it all. Not so long ago I have tried to contact "Mr Texel Airshow" about the Luchtmachtdagen, but he lives in another world than I do. So no reply to my messages...... Are you getting what I'm aiming at ?

If we all keep cheering them on, they are not going to take notice of the points that could have been arranged better. And I have read a lot of remarks about possible points of improvement. Comments serve a purpose, you know....
As they say in my job: Comments are just free advise !
@ Iwan, take my part of free advise...
You can approach people on alot of different ways... but from the looks of it like YOU refering to "Mr Texel Airshow" i can be very simple... Perhaps he doesn't like to be named like that for instance... this could give a good clue why he didn't contact you back... I think the BAD has more contacts that any of us... but if they use all the contacts in one weekend, the next airshow would be the same again AND then we are complaining again that we always have the same things... And as we don't have Airbases big enough to host every country it's just a matter of give and take...
@ The other complainers...
Try to see the bigger picture... Aslong as there will be airshows, there will be people there that never even saw an airshow (well it isn't fantasy actualy, i had the privilege to introduce my girlfriend to the airshow phenomenon and she REALY liked it!!!
) Alot of people never even saw a Vulcan or MIG-29 before or for instance the F-16 upclose... These people are what some spotters call 'dagjes mensen' (and i think it's a realy degrading maner to speak about them that way) i just call them: People that want to have a glimps in our Hobby. I have to admit that i actualy was a bit ticked off by some spotters, while i was standing up to make some pictures from the Vulcan take off... some Idiot placed a steplader infront of my so destroying my opportunity to photograph... I also have a stepladder sometimes, but I always do a quick look around before i put it down so that im not in the way of everyone...
We spotters are kind of spoiled right now in these ages like doing trips and such and see alot aircraft that some people have never heared from or seen or even have the chance to catch a ride with them... for F*** sake... isn't it already a wonderfull thing here in the Netherlands that there is a free Airshow that's available to everyone that wants to enjoy the Art of Flying???? Some countries don't even have these posibillities, or willing to do these things.
So next time before making stupid remarks like.. the intakes are all covered up or, why where the spares also lined up beside the show aircraft, you should remember these wise words a very important person in my life tought me when i was a youngster..
it's important to be thankfull for the good things that you've got, because the good things that you've got are just for many just a dream. so be really thankfull for the good things that you've got .
I know for instance a person who isn't able to go to airshows anymore because he's to ill to go to one... But is he complaining?? NO!!! he follows it from the pictures and is thankfull he can still see... It's time to return for us to our basics, because it all can be over for anyone of us in a second!!!!
SO ONCE AGAIN: I WOULD GIVE A BIG HURRAY FOR BAD (JB5, MR. DE BRUIN, and ALL THE OTHERS THAT WORKED ON THIS EDITION) and i realy hope next year will be as lovely or even better
as this time...
