The 162nd Fighter Wing (162 FW) Detachment 1 at Davis-Monthan AFB supports ―Operation Snowbird, a National Guard Bureau program that has been in existence since 1975. The purpose of Operation Snowbird is to provide support for visiting flying units from the Air National Guard and other units from around the world looking to train and exercise in the optimal weather and flying conditions and ample ranges of Southern Arizona. 152nd FS has permanent four F-16s on detachment for QRA duties at Davis Monthan AFB (AZ). 214th RS: Although the pilots are at Davis Monthan AFB (AZ), the MQ-9A aircraft are based at Fort Huachuca (AZ). The 55th RQS has received its first HH-60W on 3 May 2023. The final delivery is expected in 2024, replacing the HH-60G. The 79th RQS operates six HC-130J used for opeartions, while a single OT coded HC-130J is used for Operational Test. |

The Australian F-35 training is incorporated in the 61st FS operations. The Norwegian and Italian F-35 training is incorporated in the 62nd FS operations. The Turkish F-35 training is incorporated in the 63rd FS operations. Recent polictical developments stopped the Turkish Air Force training with immediate effect. The Royal Danish Air Force and Royal Netherlands Air Force F-35 training are incorporated in the 308th FS operations. The 425th FS aircraft are owned by Singapore, and provide F-16 conversion training for their pilots. The 69th Fighter Squadron is a United States Air Force Reserve fighter squadron. It is assigned to the 944th Operations Group, stationed at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona and borrows aircraf from the 56th OG when needed 944th OG Det2 is currently responsible for ROKAF F-35A training. |
