1Terminal
Inside terminal the "Aviation Experience" on the third floor used to give a limited overview of the airfield. However, it has been closed and we do not know what viewing possibilities have left.
2Footpath
There is a footpath between the airfield and the railroad at the end of Comet Road/Herald Road. From here good views exist of the terminal area on this side and it also possible to take pictures of the taxiing aircraft.
3Marston Green Railway station
You can stand on the bridge crossing the tracks of the railway station. During the morning, you have the sun in your back and very good photos from taxiing traffic to runway 15 can be taken. A small warning here, you might be asked to move from the bridge by railway staff.
4Sheldon Country Park
This is a public park and offers good views from this side. Start walking from Marston Green railway station, you can get close to the approach of runway 15. You can get to both sides of the runway so you can move around with the sun during the day. Taxiing traffic can be a bit tricky to shoot due to the terrain.
5Hatchford Brook Golf course
From the golf course, you have multiple spots, start walking at Cranes Park Road and just explore the area. The best time for photos is in the afternoon.
6Tri-Star Hotel
One of the best photo spots at the field, but with a very big warning... The owner of the hotel does not like spotters so you will be chased away fairly fast. Also, you can not park here as the police will ask you to move on.
7Long Stay Car Park 1
This is one of the best spots for photos, situated in the Long Stay Car Park, right underneath runway 33. Being an official aircraft viewing area there are picnic benches with great views! All landing and departing traffic can be seen and photographed from here when this runway is in use. A small stepladder might be handy for taking pictures over the fence. A free bus is available from this car park to the terminal in order to obtain refreshments or use the facilities.
